LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (HEAD DYKE LANE, PILLING & BURNED HOUSE LANE, PREESALL, WYRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order. 1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Wyre: i. Head Dyke Lane, Pilling from its junction with Lancaster Road to its junction with Burned House Lane. ii. Burned House Lane, Preesall at its junction with Head Dyke Lane to its junction with Hall Gate Lane. 2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works. 3. The prohibition will be operative nightly from 2000 hours until 0600 hours on Monday 26th June 2023 until Friday 30th June 2023 or until completion of the works within this period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. 4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via: Hall Gate Lane - Stricklands Lane - Carr Lane - Shard Road – Mains Lane - Garstang New Road - Garstang Road - The Avenue - Preston Lancaster New Road - Preston Lancaster Road – Scotforth Road - Ashton Road - Lancaster Road and vice versa The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow line marking works to be carried out by LCC Highways.
