Mayor's thanks

Outgoing Mayor Cllr Lynda Woodhouse completed her year in office with a gathering at Dawn's Cafe in Knott End, where she spoke of how much she enjoyed her busy year and gave thanks for all who had supported her and her fund-raising projects.


Road repairs

The council has been informed that work to resurface Pilling Lane, from its junction with Grasmere Road to Green Dicks Lane, is scheduled to take place in August. This will be a county council project.


Railway update
The group working to reopen a stretch of the old 'Pilling Pig' railway line says it is making good progress, with membership growing. The group has been recognised as members of the Narrow-Gauge Railways Association and now has liability insurance.


Next meeting

Preesall Town Council will meet next on Monday June 10 at the Youth and Community Centre on Lancaster Road, from 7pm. This is a public meeting and residents are welcome. An opportunity to raise matters is available.
